911/Public Safety Dispatcher

Yolo Emergency Communications Agency is currently recruiting for 911/Public Safety Dispatchers, to work in consolidated 9-1-1 Dispatch Center, located in Woodland, CA.

    • Minimum of 35 words per minute
    • Test must be a minimum of three minutes
    • Include gross words per minute, number of errors, date of test (must be within one year) and signature of person administering the test.
    • Due to COVID-19 Restrictions; on-line typing certificates will be accepted and verified during testing.

Deadline

Applicants meeting minimum requirements will be invited for an initial test, application packages must be received by 5:00 P.M. September 16, 2020, to be considered for initial testing.

We are currently recruiting to fill Dispatcher I/II classifications. Candidates who successfully pass the pre-employment testing and interview process will be placed into Dispatcher or Dispatch Assistant classifications based on their testing scores and ranking.

The highest scoring successful candidates will be placed in the available vacant Dispatcher series positions. Subsequent successful candidates will be placed in the available vacant Dispatcher Assistant series positions. The Dispatcher Assistant classification is the entry step into the Dispatcher series and if meeting performance standards may be given preferential promotion opportunities when Dispatcher classification vacancies occur.
